Active Adults Strength Training
Getting and staying fit after 50 can be a challenge. This class will get you ready to conquer that challenge and more! At the end of this progressive, skill-building program, you will know how to use free weights and machines safely to build your strength. Subsequent sections will build on the skills you have mastered and continue to build muscle strength, size and endurance and to improve flexibility, balance and coordination. Safety, posture, body control and awareness will be taught in this class to establish the building blocks to safe strength training.
Each class will begin in the Fitness Room then move to the weight room.
For your safety, the pre-requisites for this class include:
One year of consistent adherence to an individual or group fitness program that has some component of strength training
Movement screen by the instructor
Please register early as registration closes 2 days before the scheduled Active Adults Strength Training class start date.
Upon completion of the first level of the Active Adults Strength Training class (911350-A), and with Instructor approval (for safety reasons) you can continue to progress in the next session: 911351-A. If you are not ready to move on, you can solidify your progress in 911350-B.
